Course Objective
To train students to familiarize and program microprocessors and microcontrollers, and to introduce a team working environment where they develop the necessary skills for planning, preparing and implementing embedded systems.
Module-wise Syllabus
Module 1
Study and familiarization of the 8085 microprocessor kit; simple 8085 assembly programs (addition, subtraction, division, swapping, array sorting, largest/smallest number, binary to ASCII conversion, square wave generation). Arduino UNO — familiarization of Arduino IDE, LED blinking, voltage measurement, DC current measurement using Hall effect sensor, rotary potentiometer interfacing, DC motor speed control using PWM, LED bar, light sensor, touch sensor with buzzer, barometer sensor, gas sensor interfacing, cloud data upload demos. ARM based Arduino Due — time delay generation and relay interface, display and keyboard interface, ADC/DAC interface with waveform generation, stepper motor and DC motor interface, Boolean expression realization through port, PWM generation. At least 12 experiments with a minimum of 4 from each of 8085 microprocessor, Arduino UNO and ARM-based Arduino Due.
Course Outcomes
