Frequently Asked Questions

Which is the toughest entrance exam after 12th in India?

JEE Advanced is widely considered the hardest undergraduate entrance exam in India — it tests Physics, Chemistry and Maths at a depth that rivals international olympiads. NEET is the second-hardest with 2 million+ candidates competing for limited MBBS seats. CLAT and AILET for NLU law admissions are highly competitive in their category. UPSC is technically a post-graduation exam, but NDA (for Class 12 students) is already significantly competitive.

Can a Commerce student apply for any entrance exam after 12th?

Yes — Commerce students can appear for CLAT (law), CUET (university admissions), IPMAT (IIM integrated programme), CA Foundation, CS Foundation, hotel management (NCHM JEE), BBA entrance tests and NDA (if they have Maths in Class 12). Most professional programmes beyond pure Science require only any stream at Class 12. Commerce students cannot directly appear for JEE or NEET, which require PCM/PCB respectively.

What is the best entrance exam for a Science student other than JEE and NEET?

Science students who do not want engineering or medicine have strong options: BITSAT (BITS Pilani — excellent placements), UCEED (IIT design programmes — creative+analytical), NIFT (fashion design), NDA (defence — requires Maths), CUET for BSc at central universities, and IPMAT (IIM integrated programme — open to all streams). Science students also remain fully eligible for CLAT, CUET Humanities and all other exams.
