Course Objective

To perform experiments to determine water and wastewater quality, and to understand the quality of water, wastewater and industrial water.

Module-wise Syllabus

Module 1

Determination of pH and turbidity, conductivity and total dissolved solids, alkalinity and acidity, chlorides, total/organic/inorganic solids, iron, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen, total phosphorous, B.O.D, C.O.D, optimum coagulant dose, chlorine demand, sulphate, hardness, and presumptive coliform test. Any 12 experiments mandatory.

Course Outcomes

CO1Understand the equipment used to test water quality.
CO2Perform the experiments for water quality and estimate the quality.
CO3Compare the water quality standards with prescribed standards set by local governments.
