Frequently Asked Questions

Is UP Board Class 10 harder than CBSE Class 10?

UP Board Class 10 is generally considered moderately difficult to tough for students unfamiliar with its style. The Hindi paper and essay requirements are more demanding than CBSE. The exam is entirely annual (no internal options or project relief) and the marking is stricter in some evaluating centres. However, the core subject content (Maths, Science) overlaps significantly with CBSE. Many students find CBSE's objective/MCQ pattern more familiar if they study from NCERT, while UP Board leans more toward descriptive answers.

What books should I use for UP Board Class 10?

UPMSP prescribes its own textbooks for all subjects — available at UP government school book distribution points and online. For Maths and Science, NCERT textbooks are closely aligned and highly recommended as supplementary material (UPMSP content is largely NCERT-based). For Hindi and Social Science, the UPMSP-prescribed books are essential as the exam questions are directly from these texts. Supplementary books: RD Sharma for Maths, Lakhmir Singh for Science.
